Greetings Members,

As you may have heard, the Minneapolis Federation of Teachers, Local 59, and Minneapolis Public Schools reached a tentative agreement for the 2007-09 K12 Teachers Contract at approximately noon today. 

Information about the contract will be presented at the MFT Local 59 Membership Meeting at 5:00pm on Wednesday, January 9th at St. Mary’s Greek Orthodox Church.    St. Mary's is at 3450 Irving Avenue South, which is just south of uptown on the east side of Lake Calhoun. 

To get there:

• From Lake Street and Lyndale (near Uptown), go south 4 blocks to 34th street, then west 11 blocks to Irving Ave. 

There is a short time between now and January 15th.

Unfortunately, parking space may be limited, so consider carpooling with your colleagues, if possible.

The MFT Executive Board and Negotiations Team will be there. 

This meeting will provide information about the tentative agreement as well as the timeline for further informational meetings and voting by January 15th.
